Convert audio to MIDI
Right-click an audio clip in the Arrangement ▸ Convert:
| Command | What you get |
|---|---|
| Convert Melody to New MIDI Track | The tune — a single line of notes — on a new Nota Synth track. Best on clean single-note lines and vocals. |
| Convert Harmony to New MIDI Track | The chords and notes played together, on a new Nota Synth track. Best on sustained chords and pads. |
| Convert Drums to New MIDI Track | A new Drum Rack with a pad for each kind of hit it hears (kick, snare, hats…), each voiced by its strongest hit, and a MIDI clip that plays them where they were. |
| Slice to New MIDI Track | The clip cut at its hits (or into 16 even slices) onto Drum Rack pads from C1 up, with a MIDI clip that plays the slices back in order. |
The MIDI clip sits under the original clip, in time with it; the status line says how many notes or pads it made. Conversion runs in the background with a progress window you can cancel.
