Nota Bass

Nota Bass is tuned for low end: one oscillator that morphs from sine to pulse, a sub oscillator underneath, a filter with drive, and a mono voice with glide. Subs, 808s, acid lines, reese and wobble basses.

Signal flow: Osc + Sub → pre-drive → filter (with its envelope, key and LFO) → amp envelope → output drive.

Control What it does
Mono / Poly 16 Mono plays the last note you hold — a proper bass
Legato In Mono, a note played over a held one slides into it without a new attack
Glide Slide time between notes
Unison Thicker, detuned voices
Drive Output saturation
Bend · Volume · Pan Bend range (1–12 semitones), level, position

The mod wheel opens the LFO onto the cutoff — a hand-played wobble.

25 factory presets: subs (Sub Rumble, 808 Sub, Dub Sub, Techno Rumble, Soft Round), classic mono (Pluck Bass, Classic Mono, Pulse Bass, Rubber Bass, Stab Bass, Octave Bass, Drift Bass), acid (Acid 303, Acid Slide), heavy (Reese Bass, Growl Bass, Wobble Bass, Hoover Bass, Fuzz Bass, Vowel Bass, Wheel Wobble, S&H Bass) and played (Finger Bass, Picked Bass, Funk Slap).

  • 303-style slides: Mono + Legato + a little Glide; overlap the notes in the piano roll where you want a slide.
  • Keep the sub clean: let the Sub carry the lows and push Drive on the Osc for the upper harmonics.
