Undo and value entry
Undo and redo
Section titled “Undo and redo”Edit ▸ Undo (⌘Z) and Edit ▸ Redo (⌘⇧Z) cover every edit: notes and clips, tracks, devices and their settings, automation, Session clips and scenes. A gesture is one step — dragging several clips, or turning a knob from one value to another, undoes in one go.
To go back further than undo reaches — to yesterday’s mix, say — use version history.
Setting values
Section titled “Setting values”Knobs, sliders and numbers across Nota work the same way:
| Do this | To |
|---|---|
| Drag up / down | Change the value |
| Drag with ⌘ or ⇧ held | Change it in fine steps |
| Double-click a knob | Reset it to its default |
| Double-click a slider’s value | Type an exact value |
When you type, units work: -6, 1.5k, 250 ms, -3 dB, L 30, 1/16. Return
sets the value, Esc cancels. This works in device cards, the clip editor and rack
macros.
Track faders and pan bars reset to their default on a double-click too.
Automation and MIDI
Section titled “Automation and MIDI”Any value you can turn can also be automated or mapped to a hardware control with MIDI Learn.
