Nota Dynamic EQ-8
Nota Dynamic EQ-8 is an eight-band EQ in which every band can also behave like a small compressor or expander for just its frequencies. Tame sibilance only when it happens, dip the bass only when the kick hits, lift air only when a vocal goes quiet.

A band
Section titled “A band”The static half is the same as EQ-8: type, Freq, Gain, Q. The dynamic half:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mode | Static — a plain EQ band; Duck — acts as the band gets louder than the threshold; Lift — acts as it falls below |
| Thresh | The level where it starts to act; the band’s current level is marked on it |
| Range | How many dB at full action — negative cuts, positive boosts (a Duck that boosts is upward expansion) |
| Attack · Release | How fast it acts and lets go |
| Key | Self (the band’s own signal) or Ext (another track — the device’s sidechain source) |
| Solo | Hear only this band |
Only shelves and bells take dynamic gain. Full action is reached 6 dB past the threshold. The band chips above the graph light up with each band’s activity.
Global
Section titled “Global”Dynamic switches all dynamics off at once — an instant A/B of what they do. Out trims the output.
Presets
Section titled “Presets”33 factory presets: vocals (De-Ess, De-Ess Soft, De-Harsh Vox, Vocal Tame, Vocal Presence, Proximity Control, Air Lift Vocal, Podcast Voice), mix and master (Mix Bus Air, Mud Control, Harshness Guard, Warm Master, Master Glue EQ, Loudness Contour), drums (Punch Tighten, Kick Box Cut, Snare Ring Tamer, Cymbal Smoother, Room Mic Duck), bass (Bass Control, Bass Clarity, Sub Tamer, Kick Ducks Bass) and more (Vocal Pocket, Voiceover Space, Guitar Resonance, Piano Boom Control, Pad Smoother, Upward Air, Hiss Dip).
- Make room for the vocal: on a pad, a Duck bell around 2–3 kHz keyed Ext from the vocal track.
- Kick and bass: on the bass, a Duck low shelf keyed from the kick (Kick Ducks Bass).
