Nota Delay

Nota Delay repeats the sound: slapback, rhythmic eighths, dub throws, tape echoes, frozen beds.

Layout: the Loop column on the left (Feedback, Spread), a centre panel with two tabs over a live window of the repeats, a right panel (Levels / Output) and a status line that tells you how many repeats stay audible.

Control What it does
Sync / ms Time as a note division (1/16 … 1/2, including triplets and dotted) or in milliseconds (up to 2 s)
L time · R time The two channels’ times
Link The right channel follows the left
Ping Ping-pong — each repeat crosses to the other side
Fade on change Changing the time crossfades to the new one instead of gliding (no pitch bend)
Tap tempo Tap four times to set the time by ear (switches to ms)

The feedback loop: a low cut and high cut filter (drag its handles), Diffuse (smears the repeats into a cloud), Tape mode (saturation), and tape Wow — Wow rate and Wow depth. Freeze holds the loop forever: the input is muted and the repeats stop decaying. Clear loop empties the buffer.

Dry, Mix, Width, Mono f (bass mono), Wet only (for a return track), Out, and Latency comp. — keeps the echo exactly on time when Diffuse is up.

30 factory presets: short (Slapback, Doubler, Rockabilly Slap, Haas Widener, Slap Wide), rhythmic (Eighth Bounce, Dub Eighths, Ping Quarter, Dotted Eighth, Triplet Roll, Sixteenth Stutter, Half-Note Wash, Cross Rhythm, Polyrhythm 3:4, Wide Quarters, Trance Gate Echo), tape (Tape Echo, Space Echo, Warped Tape, Bucket Brigade, Repitch Riser), colour and space (Vocal Throw, Telephone Echo, Diffuse Cloud, Ambient Wash, Dark Cavern, Tape Hold, Frozen Bed) and for returns (Send · Eighth, Send · Quarter).

  • Dub throw: automate the send to a Delay return on the last word of a phrase.
  • Wide without echo: 10–25 ms on one side only (Haas Widener).
